My husband and I were in the market to downsize. We had heard about the patio homes in Alden New York and decided to take a ride and see what they were all about. The homes were absolutely beautiful and everything we were looking for inside and out, plus being in an area with lower taxes.
The beautiful construction speaks for the Severyn Company. The quality of the home is like no other. We love the attention to detail and the old fashioned street lights with a brick road and pond.
Working with the Severyn family has been very easy, everything fell into place! It is the smartest move we’ve made and we no longer have to do yard work or snow removal.
Our family recently moved into a Severyn built home in Lockport. This was our third time building a new home. We interviewed several builders but chose Severyn based on cost and personal service. Severyn included desired features as standard while other builders considered them upgrades. In addition, Severyn did not use an escalation clause in their contract while others were 10-20K. Severyn offered Energy Star certification for their home while the other builders mentioned energy star materials but would not certify home as Energy Star compliant. The selection process was simple with Severyn designer Alisa Gasz. She patiently reviewed samples and allowed my wife and I time to make final decisions. The vendors that Severyn uses for electrical, plumbing, and kitchen are great to work with. Severyn took a personal interest in designing and building our custom home from start to finish. We would recommend Severyn to anyone planning to build a custom home.
We purchased a model home from Severyn Development (Grant model). It was a very good experience. We are very happy with our home. As our home was complete when we purchased it we didn't go through the building experience with Severyn. When we purchased the home, it was still winter/early spring so the driveway and lawn couldn't be completed until later in spring. They had the lawn graded and hydroseeded after we moved in. The driveway took several months to be completed. Severyn did what they could, they had to wait on the paving/concrete contractor to do the work. Tim from Severyn stayed on top of the contractor until it was done. Tim also came out and fixed a few warranty items, he was great to work with. We are very happy with the quality of the build of the home and the finishes Severyn used. It's very energy efficient and comfortable. We would work with Severyn Development again if we needed another home.
We moved into our Severyn home back in August and they have been excellent every step of the way. They are always responsive to questions, requests, and issues. This was my first new build and I don't know how we would have done it without the app technology used at Severyn. They give you the transparency of the progress of the home straight through an app, this made everything SO easy to document pictures, progress and even all your documents.
On top of that, we spoke to 6 other builders in the area, the 'standards' at Severyn were SO far above and beyond the others. Things that were considered upgrades at the others came standard at Severyn.
Overall we are very happy with our Severyn home and couldn't imagine working anyone else.

We had heard building a home is a very stressful and frustrating process. Partnering with Severyn Development, for us, was absolutely the right decision!
Beginning with the design phase, which we thought would be very overwhelming, Alisa could not be more wonderful to work with! Her creative ideas helped us design every detail of our space. Alisa went above and beyond, meeting us on-site outside of standard business hours or at vendor sites multiple times until we were sure we made the right selections for us! Although we would send questions to her at off hours, advising a response could wait, Alisa would often respond immediately even on nights and weekends.
As we began our partnership Bill Severyn advised there will be issues that arise, noting what makes a great partner is how issues are handled and resolved. Bill was right, there were a few challenges, a couple large ones. Each proactively communicated with quality solutions offered. Solutions to ensure the right resolution, not short cuts, quick fixes or cover-ups. Tim, stepped in as our project manager about 3/4’s through our build and was just truly amazing! Again, very accessible and dedicated to driving quality results. Tim’s outstanding efforts and dedication helped get our home move in ready as close to on time as possible! We have been in our home for about a week. Our Severyn team is still in communication with us! Here to follow up on the little things that need touch up or tweaking to ensure everything meets our exceptions. Since much of our home was built in the winter, there remain outside items to be completed in the Spring. Based on our experience to this point, we know Severyn Development will be with us through to completion and beyond.
Building a home is not a small investment. To us, partnering with an ethical builder, who values a high standard for quality was very important to us. As we near the end of our build, we can certainly say Severyn Development has been a great partner for us!!
